Sam joined the DAH family in early September 2020.
She is currently attending Pima Community College to obtain an Associate of Science.
Her goal is to transfer to the University of Arizona to major in Animal Biology with a long term goal of obtaining her DVM.
Sam hopes to one day own her own practice with an animal sanctuary attached for large animals (livestock; etc.)
When Sam is not working, you can find her hiking, reading, gardening, or spending time with her 2 dogs; Colt and Speckles. Colt is a German Shepherd Mix and Speckles is a Border Collie/Blue Heeler Mix.
Sam's passion for animals started as a young child and has aspired to be a Veterinarian since about 6 years of age.
She started this passion at 11 years old by showing for 4H. At 14 years of age by working with animals at Colossal Cave Stables and entered the Veterinary field at age 20.
Dr. Tim Overbey received his B.A. in Zoology from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1993. He then went on to receive his DVM from the University of California, Davis in 1999. Dr. Overbey practiced in San Mateo, California, before relocating to Arizona in 2005. He practiced in Tucson until 2010 when he joined the team at Duval Animal Hospital.
In 2012 he became Practice Owner.
Areas of professional interest include internal medicine and soft tissue surgery.
Dr. Overbey lives in Tucson with his two cats; Pequod and Claud. In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer, cycling, reading, & grilling.
Dr Barry Wilkinson earned his B.S degree in Veterinary Science and Microbiology from the University of Arizona in 1999 where he was named the Outstanding Senior of his class. He subsequently attended Colorado State University where he received his D.V.M.in 2003 , graduating in the top 1% of his class, just 2 months shy of his 50th birthday .He graduated from both of these institutions Summa Cum Laude .
While Dr. Wilkinson has many canine patients he has a special interest in feline medicine and has been a member of The American Association of Feline Practitioners for the past 15 years. While in vet school he served as an officer in the organisation for several years.

Kayla was born in Dallas, TX and moved to Greensboro, NC as a small child where she grew up and obtained her BS in Business Administration at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2014. Kayla spent her college years working in retail as a sales associate where she quickly became an assistant manager.
In January 2016 she relocated to Arizona to be closer to her family and to ultimately pursue her life long dream of becoming involved in the veterinary field. Kayla started at Duval Animal Hospital as a Veterinary Assistant in February of 2016 and has worked her way up to Veterinary Technician and now Practice Manager.
In her free time she enjoys grilling, spending time with friends and family and being outdoors.
Kayla currently shares her home with her 9 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, 'The Boog Man', a 2 year old Cattle Dog Mix, Angus, and her 2 year old cat, Baby Ennis. Kayla recently welcomed a 16 year old retired team roping Quarter horse named Marlin, also known as Big Red. Their weekends now consist of trail riding; no more cows to rope!. Kayla also recently welcomed a 3 year old Quarter Horse to her herd; Derringer.
Kayla is very excited to be using her back ground in business and experience in the veterinary field to continue to make a difference in the lives of companion animals and their owners.
